Once the capital of a vanished civilization, Blackridge holds the strongest concentration of an ancient power. Now it draws two nations into the Cinderfold and toward war.
The heart of the Cinderfold
Where the old power endures
Long before Valdren and Serevoth, an older civilization made Blackridge its capital. Its people built three Totems: Sun sustained the city's defenses, Storm held power over the skies, and Ash opened the ancient passages below. The builders vanished, leaving the Totems and ruins behind.
The Totems make Blackridge the strongest place to wield the Dragon-Eye Crown, though none can command a Titan without it. Valdren has stood guard there for generations, living alongside the dragons that remain. Serevoth's armies have entered the Cinderfold, drawn to the same ancient seat of power.
An old peace
One crown. Two nations.
The Dragon-Eye Crown was divided between Valdren and Serevoth as a pledge of peace. Each nation kept one piece and believed the division could never be undone. A single piece can command one Titan Dragon at a time; reunited, the crown could command all four.
Then Serevoth's scholars uncovered a sealed record left by the builders. It revealed a lost way to reunite the crown at Blackridge. The Covenant of the First Fire kept the discovery secret and attacked Valdren to seize the half guarded by the Vigil of the Last Flame. That choice shattered the peace and brought war to the ancient capital.
